Dimas-Diajeng 2019: The Grand Night of Dimas – Diajeng Election in Bantul 2019 was attended by Bantul Regent Suharsono, held at the History of Java Museum, Parangtritis Road, Sewon, Bantul, on Sunday (14/7/2019) evening.
During the event, Suharsono took the opportunity to go on a brief tour of the museum in the pyramid-shaped building. Accompanied by his wife and several Bantul government officials, he was guided directly by the Head of the History of Java Museum, Ki Sutikno.
“Although I may be older now, seeing the collections in this museum equipped with advanced technology makes me want to learn more about Javanese history, particularly the Yogyakarta and Surakarta palaces, which are also featured here,” said Suharsono.
In the museum, which houses more than 300 artifacts and ancient objects from Javanese history dating back 2.5 million years, Suharsono was shown the museum’s technology, including “Augmented Reality” or “3D objects,” which display moving images in three dimensions. He and his wife also took the time to take a selfie with the 3D objects.
“With the sophistication and completeness of the collections in this museum, I hope the History of Java Museum becomes one of the main tourism attractions in Bantul that visitors will come to when they visit Yogyakarta,” said Suharsono.
In addition, Bantul Regent Suharsono spent about 15 minutes inside the History of Java Museum, showing great enthusiasm in observing several of the museum’s collections.
Starting from artifacts, arrows, and royal furniture from ancient times that are still well-preserved and displayed in an engaging manner for learning about Javanese history.
In addition, the Peak Event of the 2019 Dimas Diajeng Election was held at the Malioboro Food Street area, which is located in the same area as the History of Java Museum. This 6,000-square-meter area is well-known for being a comfortable spot to relax while enjoying the culinary delights of the Malioboro Food Street.
